## An excellent balance of weight and comfort

At just over 1kg, the Gregory Focal 48 backpack is an ideal choice for anyone seeking to minimise weight. It uses an ultralight **aluminium frame** to support the load and transfer it onto your hips.
The Focal 48 uses 100D and 210D nylon for a **lightweight yet durable shell**.
Its comfort features include:

- an aluminium frame with a fibreglass anti-collapse stay for balanced carrying;
- a suspended back panel that follows your body's movements;
- a padded hip belt that is **highly supportive and flexible**, moving as one with your hips;
- an adjustable chest strap and shoulder load lifter straps.

## Effective ventilation

The Focal 48 backpack's suspended mesh provides the **breathability you need** when perspiring heavily. An air channel ventilates your back effectively.
The hip belt and shoulder straps are also designed to minimise perspiration. An **anti-odour treatment** on the backpack prevents microbial growth.

Features and storage include:

- top access to the main compartment with a drawcord closure;
- a removable lid containing a large zipped pocket, a small internal zipped pocket and another zipped pocket beneath the lid;
- an **ultralight rain cover** in nylon taffeta;
- a stretch mesh front pocket with a fastening clip;
- 2 stretch mesh side pockets for water bottles, for example, with quick side access;
