The first TSL snowshoe was born in Thônes in the early 80s. Just a few years later, TSL snowshoes introduced real technical improvements that made walking in snow easier.

## How to choose your TSL snowshoe size

Each TSL snowshoe model offers a choice of 2 or even 3 deck sizes. To choose correctly, TSL specifies a weight and shoe-size range, reproduced below.

However, these ranges are so broad that they are not enough to choose the right deck. We therefore recommend starting with **your height**. On RayonRando.com, you can filter as a guide according to whether you are above or below 1m70. At 1m60, an oversized deck will make you step on your own snowshoes because your stride is too short.

Here is what the different TSL model versions correspond to:

TSL Elevation and Initial snowshoes:

- 305 version: supported load 30 to 80 kg / shoe size 35 to 43
- 325 version: supported load 50 to 120 kg / shoe size 39 to 47

TSL Up & Down Grip snowshoes:

- The 418 version: supported load 40 to 80 kg / shoe size 35 to 44
- The 438 version: supported load 60 to 120 kg / shoe size 38 to 46

TSL Highlander Access, Adjust and Symbioz Hyperflex Original 2 snowshoes:

- S version: supported load 30 to 80 kg / shoe size 37 to 44
- M version: supported load 50 to 120 kg / shoe size 39 to 47
- L version: supported load 70 to 140 kg / shoe size 41 to 50

## Conclusion:

Choose your TSL snowshoes primarily according to **your activity**, from occasional to intensive, the intended terrain — broad plateaux, major climbs, traverses, resort Nordic areas or wilderness — and the **snow type**: groomed, powder, compacted, icy or wet.

Then refine your choice according to **your build** and **total carried weight**.

Safety, in terms of support and grip, remains the main criterion. But the TSL snowshoes presented here also improve **comfort in use** and **ease of handling**. These last points matter more if you go out regularly or plan long days of hiking.
