The **Katadyn Befree AC 1L** soft filter bottle is a **very light, compact** filtration solution with a dual filter **(0.1 micron membrane + activated carbon)** to remove most microorganisms and unpleasant tastes when travelling or hiking.

## Effective filtration:

The Befree AC 1L combines **2 filters** for filtering varied water sources (clear, cloudy or unpleasant-tasting):

- A **0.1 micron** hollow-fibre membrane. It removes 99.9% of protozoa, 99.9999% of bacteria and microplastics.
- **Activated carbon** reduces unpleasant tastes, odours, turbidity and chlorine.

It can be used without the carbon filter while retaining full filtration effectiveness.

Fast filtration flow: up to **2 litres per minute** (without the activated carbon filter).

## A lightweight, practical filter:

Highly **compressible**, this filter bottle fits easily into large or small backpacks. Its **featherweight construction** makes it one of the lightest filters on the market.

The filter bottle has a **wide 42 mm opening** and a **handle** for easy filling of the soft pouch.

## Easy maintenance:

Both filters (membrane and activated carbon) are **replaceable** to keep your bottle working for years:

- The EZ-Clean hollow-fibre membrane treats **up to 1000 L** of water (indicative, as this depends on water turbidity).

**What exactly does it filter?**

This Katadyn BeFree AC 1 L filter bottle combines a 0.1 micron hollow-fibre membrane removing 99.9% of protozoa, 99.9999% of bacteria and microplastics with activated carbon reducing unpleasant tastes, odours, turbidity and chlorine. It also works without carbon while retaining full filtration effectiveness. Which region will you fill it in?

**How do you maintain it?**

This BeFree AC 1 L is cleaned by unscrewing the filter and swishing it in clean water to remove sediment. Both filters are replaceable: the EZ-Clean membrane treats up to 1,000 L and activated carbon up to 200 L, depending on turbidity. A very tough flip cap also protects the valve from dirt. This BeFree AC 1 L carries twice as much water as the BeFree AC 0.5 L for just 5 g more. The 0.5 L version has a slimmer flask shape for hiking or trail running bottle holders, and both share the same dual filter. How often will you find water along your route?
