Warm or lightweight, some water-repellent, windproof fleeces are suitable for all-season use and provide optimum thermal comfort. Fleece gilets are perfect for great freedom of movement.

How to choose your fleece

- Lightweight or thick fleece? Your choice depends first on how cold it is, but also on how you will use it. Lightweight fleeces are well suited to sporting activities, as less thermal protection is needed and they wick moisture well while maintaining freedom of movement, particularly for a wide range of movements. Some also have stretch panels. Thick fleeces, generally over 400 g, suit more intense cold or moderate cold when you are relatively stationary.

- ¼ zip or full zip? Full-zip fleeces are easier to put on and more versatile, as you can adjust the opening to the weather and when entering or leaving a heated building. ¼-zip fleeces are slightly more compact, lightweight and generally more affordable.

- Some fleeces use Polartec fabrics. This leading fleece fabric manufacturer is renowned for technical fabrics that are warm, lightweight and highly breathable.
