Hiking socks made in France

All the socks on this page are made in France by Monnet and Thyo. They cover every season: thin, ventilated socks for summer, merino wool for the cold, and double-layer socks to prevent blisters.

Monnet

Monnet's Trek range runs from the extra-thin, merino-rich Trek Extra Light for summer hikes to the Trek Expert, which protects the heel, Achilles tendon, ankle bones and toes. The Twin Trek and Mid Twin combine two socks to eliminate friction, the Trek Lin Mid uses linen, and the Run Elite and Run Ultra, made from recycled polyamide, are designed for trail running.

Thyo

Thyo's Merinos Wool Trek socks, with over 65% merino wool reinforced with Cordura, offer warmth and comfort over several days of walking. The highly ventilated Pody Air is designed for Nordic walking and low-cut shoes in warm weather.

Choosing your hiking socks

  • Height should match your footwear: low-cut socks for low-cut shoes, mid-height socks for mid-cut boots, and tall socks for trekking boots.
  • Material: merino wool keeps you warm and limits odours; synthetic fibres dry quickly; linen stays cool in hot weather.
  • Blister prevention: with double-layer socks, the two layers slide against each other rather than against your skin.
