Its 3.8 cm thickness provides more comfort than conventional lightweight 2.5 cm self-inflating mats. Its shape provides more shoulder room without adding much weight.
Horizontal core cut-outs through the mat, rather than the vertical holes used in standard mats, provide good cold insulation for all-season use.
The polyester fabric resists tearing and abrasion. 

The mat also has a non-return valve for easier inflation and deflation.
