The Meindl Salerno GTX hiking boots are a good choice for walkers looking for mid-height, lightweight boots offering a very good balance between foot support and walking flexibility. This is the new version of the Meindl Tampa GTX.
They are suitable for hiking on paths or trails in mid-altitude mountains with a moderate load, including multi-day hikes.
A good balance between low weight and comfort, flexibility and support:
The fit provides comfort while remaining fully waterproof and breathable:
- Leather upper for durability, combined with a Gore-Tex membrane for full waterproof protection while remaining breathable;
- The interior is foam padded to fit the foot perfectly.
As for the sole:
- The Vibram sole provides a smooth foot roll and very good stability;
- This sole is backed with EVA foam for even greater comfort;
- A rubber toe bumper reinforces the front of the boot, while leather reinforcement protects the toes.

Choosing the right size:
- Measure your foot as follows: standing with your heel against a wall, measure the length of your foot + one finger's width, to allow a little extra room for comfort. This accommodates swelling as you walk and ensures your toes do not hit the end of the shoe.
