This pocket knife features a carbon steel blade in the distinctive Yatagan shape.
This blade, characteristic of Opinel knives, has a convex profile and curves towards the tip, ensuring excellent cutting performance.
The carbon steel used for this blade is an unalloyed steel with a high carbon content, providing excellent edge retention, high wear resistance and easy resharpening.
However, carbon steel has low corrosion resistance and requires care in use:
- Do not leave the knife in damp conditions or put it in the dishwasher;
- Wipe the blade with a cloth after use and grease it regularly.
This Opinel No.8 knife also features a Virobloc rotating safety collar. This lets you lock the blade both open and closed.
