The Polispectral process, also called Inox-Spectral®, is an electrochemical process using no pigments or dyes. Instead, a transparent chromium oxide layer is deposited on the treated surface. This produces different colour effects without changing the nature of the stainless steel. Interference (overlapping light waves) creates different colour effects according to the angle of the light. The effect also varies with the thickness of the deposited chromium oxide layer.
