The Lifesaver Wayfarer portable water purifier is one of the most effective filters on the market thanks to its 0.015-micron membrane that blocks viruses. Its compact format makes it the ideal purifier for safe drinking water on multi-day trips to all 4 corners of the globe.
The best filtration on the market
This Lifesaver Wayfarer purifier offers highly reliable filtration because it is mechanical. A membrane perforated with 0.015-micron pores, compared with 0.1 or 0.2 for more common filters, physically blocks:
- bacteria > 99.9999 %
- viruses > 99.99 %
- cysts > 99.99 %
This filter can treat around 5000 litres of water before clogging, depending on water turbidity. A filter at the end of its life stops letting water through, so there is no risk of contamination.
Pressurising the water enables a flow rate of up to 1.1 litres / minute.
An activated carbon disc is included to remove chlorine, odours and unpleasant tastes from the water, with a lifespan of around 100L.
Lightweight, compact and easy to use
The Lifesaver Wayfarer filter is designed to be easy to carry in a hiking backpack. To pass through the 0.015-micron membrane, the water must be pressurised using the handle as a piston. Filtering water is therefore very simple:
- Place the float in the water to be filtered. It connects to the purifier via a 1.3m tube.
- Pump the handle to draw in untreated water.
- Water flows automatically through the 0.5m outlet tube into your chosen container.
Other features:
- BPA- and BPS-free construction
- Filtration complies with NSF/ANSI P231
- Made in the United Kingdom
- Flow rate: 1.1 L/min at 1 bar
- Operating temperature: 0 to 50°C
