Quickdraw 1 L water filtration system

The Platypus Quickdraw 1 L filtration system combines a soft bottle and filter in a compact, lightweight and highly effective kit for safely filtering water while hiking.

 

A reliable, high-performance membrane with a high flow rate

The Platypus Quickdraw 1 L filtration system has a 0.2-micron membrane to protect you against:

• 99.9999% of bacteria (including E. coli, salmonella and cholera)
• 99.9% of protozoa (including giardia and cryptosporidium)

Each filter is individually tested in accordance with EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) and NSF (US National Science Foundation) standards.

This water filter can achieve a high flow rate of 3 L/min by squeezing the water reservoir to replenish your supplies quickly while hiking.

A very simple visual safety check lets you determine whether your filter has been damaged by freezing or a fall, by watching for bubbles forming at the filter outlet:

The membrane's lifespan is estimated at around 1000 L. This may vary depending on the water's turbidity.

 

Lightweight and compact

The Quickdraw 1 L filter is particularly well suited to hiking thanks to its compact size and low weight: 105 g for the water reservoir and filter combined.

With its double-layer film, the flexible, robust reservoir can be folded or rolled without concern. This gives the hydration system a very small packed size, easily fitting into the bottom of a backpack pocket.

The reservoir's polyethylene lining also prevents an unpleasant taste.

 

Versatile and easy to maintain

This water filter offers great versatility thanks to its multiple threads (internal and external) and additional adaptor (15 g).

You can then filter water from a variety of containers, including standard plastic bottles with a Ø 28 mm neck.

One adaptor lets you fill a Hoser 2 L or Hoser 3 L hydration reservoir directly through the drinking tube.

A cap is included to close the reservoir if you want to use it as a water supply for your hike.

 

Maintaining the Quickdraw 1 L filter is very simple:

• Shake the system with the reservoir half full.
• Unscrew the filter and empty the water.

• Backflush the filter: send clean water through the outlet to dislodge impurities.
