Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In waterproofer for technical clothing effectively waterproofs your rainwear and wet-weather equipment.
It is recommended for waterproofing Gore-Tex and eVent membrane fabrics.
Your rainwear may let water in if dirty, or lose its waterproofing over time.
We recommend first washing it with Nikwax Tech Wash® cleaner. If it is almost new or has recently been reproofed, washing alone will restore the durable water repellent (DWR) treatment.
However, when a garment has seen plenty of use, you will need to reproof it using Nikwax TX.Direct® waterproofer after washing it with Nikwax Tech Wash® cleaner.
Its durable water repellent treatment does not need heat to activate, so tumble drying is unnecessary for the best results.
As garments with taped seams age, the seam adhesive weakens, becoming fragile and heat-sensitive, so it is best to avoid tumble drying.
Machine washing:
For best results, remove all non-washable parts and always pre-wash items with Nikwax Tech Wash® cleaner in a separate wash cycle. There is no need to dry garments before waterproofing them.
Remove all detergent residue from the detergent drawer.
- Place the clean garment(s) in the washing machine (maximum 2 garments).
- Use 100 ml per garment.
- Select a synthetics cycle at 30° with a slow spin.
Do not wash a garment if its seam tape is peeling off.*
To maintain waterproofing, always wash with Nikwax Tech Wash®. Do not use conventional detergents.
*Seam tape can sometimes peel off on a worn garment. It can be reattached with a suitable adhesive after waterproofing and drying.
