The MSR Freelite 3 tent is an ultralight semi-freestanding hiking tent for 3 people with impressive features: it combines comfort, low weight and durable materials. Everything hikers need for multi-day trips while travelling light.

 

Excellent living space

The Freelite 3 hiking tent offers generous space for three people. Its 1.68 m-wide inner gives you enough room for 3 regular sleeping mats. 

It has 2 large entrances for greater independence and 2 porches for storing backpacks and boots.

Its featherweight design makes it perfectly feasible to take on a trek for two, providing even more space and comfort.

 

Insulation and robust materials

The MSR Freelite 3-person tent has a flysheet for all-round protection.

The micromesh inner ensures good airflow and reduces condensation.

The ripstop nylon inner fabric and groundsheet have a DuraShield waterproof coating. Designed to resist moisture, this coating produces fabric that is waterproof, strong and lightweight. It is known to last 3 times longer than a standard coating.

The DAC aluminium pole is renowned for its low weight and strength.

 

Versatile and functional

This lightweight 3-person hiking tent is also very compact and well suited to trekking or camping over 3 seasons.

For hikers wanting to carry even less weight, the MSR Freelite 3 lightweight hiking tent can also be used with just the flysheet and poles. This is clearly less comfortable, but lets you leave the inner tent behind and lighten your backpack further.

Supplied with a compression bag and 10 aluminium needle pegs.
