The project

In December 2026, we are opening our first shop at 153 Grande Rue in Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

We are looking for a manager to prepare for the opening with the founder, then take charge of the shop's day-to-day running.

We want a shop where locals and visiting hikers find a team who know their equipment and take time to understand their needs. You will play a key role in shaping it: shop organisation, recruitment and ways of working.

Your role

Prepare for the opening

You will help with the shop fit-out, product displays and recruitment of the sales team alongside the founder. You will organise the work needed to welcome the first customers in December.

Run the shop day to day

You will welcome and advise customers alongside the team. You will organise schedules, support permanent and seasonal sales staff and keep the shop running smoothly: receiving deliveries, displaying products, monitoring stock and taking payments.

Develop the range with the founder

Customer conversations and sales monitoring will inform your decisions on the product range and prices. During quieter periods, you will also contribute to website content: product pages, equipment reviews, photos or videos, depending on your skills and interests.

The founder will handle administration, accounting and supplier relationships. You will work directly with him, with autonomy to organise the shop and support the team.

What we are looking for

You have sales experience, ideally in sport or outdoor retail, and would like to take responsibility for a shop. Some management experience is welcome, but you may also be ready to take that first step.

You go hiking, trail running or bivouacking. You know the equipment, enjoy sharing your knowledge and remain curious about areas you know less well.

You can organise work, make decisions and be there for your team and customers. You are interested in being part of a shop opening, with the choices and adjustments it involves.

An interest in equipment testing and content creation would be appreciated. You can also learn gradually with us.

The terms

  • Permanent full-time contract, with French “agent de maîtrise” supervisory status.
  • An average of 39 hours per week over the year: more during the season, fewer during quieter periods.
  • Expected start date: 1 November 2026, to prepare for the opening. The date can be adjusted to suit your availability and notice period.
  • Salary of €2,750 to €3,200 gross per month, depending on experience, based on 39 hours, with an annual performance bonus linked to the shop's results.
  • Product discounts and equipment loans for testing.
  • Year-round position in Bourg-Saint-Maurice town centre.
